    Period Panties

Period panties is machine-washable and reusable period-absorbing underwear — providing a more sustainable alternative to single-use disposable products. Period panties underwear for periods is designed in a range of absorbencies, from lightest to super, to support every stage of your flow. Every pair of Period panties period-absorbing underwear features our signature, innovative built-in technology — a moisture-wicking top layer, an absorbent core layer, and an outermost leak-resistant barrier.

Our absorbency levels range from lightest (1 regular tampon worth of flow) to Super (5 regular tampons worth of flow), so there is a style for every day of your cycle. We recommend trying Period panties period-absorbing underwear for the first time at home so you can see how they best work for your ~flow~. If you feel damp or notice your flow spreading to the seams, it may be time to change into a new pair. We recommend starting with 3-5 undies, so you’ll be covered for your entire cycle without doing extra laundry. We offer Saver Sets and discounts when you buy 3+ pairs so you can build your collection and get more for less $$$.

Across all absorbencies, the gusset positioning within the underwear varies by style. However, generally, the gusset sits under the entire front of the vulva, widened significantly at the front and rear for leak protection and with extra length in the back — covering the surface area necessary to absorb your flow and prevent leaks.

Period-absorbing underwear handles blood clots similarly to a pad. Although the undies can’t absorb the blood clot itself, they will absorb the surrounding moisture so you will not feel damp, wet, or uncomfortable.

Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) is associated primarily with tampon use. period-absorbing underwear is a safer alternative.

period-absorbing underwear is ultra-absorbent, odor-controlling, and moisture-wicking, designed to keep you fresh and dry. If your undies have not reached capacity, we recommend changing once daily, as you would regular underwear. Please note: if your period begins to smell different (unusually fishy), that might mean something is amiss down there, and it might be a good idea to check in with your doctor.

Our period-absorbing underwear is 100% latex-free! Our elastane is composed of a long chain polymer known as polyurethane, known in technical circles as a polyether-polyurea copolymer, used for having breathable and water-resistant qualities. Elastane is an entirely synthetic fabric; it does not exist anywhere in nature nor contain organic materials. So: no latex! However, a number of our styles do feature exposed elastic.

Yes! We don’t apply any perfume or fragrance to any of our materials. All of our products are fragrance-free!

Our absorbent underwear isn’t stain-proof, although the materials used in our absorbent gusset are largely stain-resistant. absorbent underwear is also lined in black to prevent stains from showing. To further prevent stains, follow the washing instructions on our How to Wash page.

Our Absorbent Period Panties are made up of the following: Body: 88% Nylon, 12% Elastane Lining: 95% Cotton, 5% Elastane. Middle: 95% Cotton, 5% Elastane, Middle Breathable TPU Gusset Compatible with all superabsorbent materials, to learn more about the materials and fabrics used in our absorbent gussets, see our Product Safety.

    Select Your Style

We recommend following the hip measurement to find the most accurate size. Be sure to measure your hips at their widest point, derriere included! We recommend sizing up in underwear styles that fit below the natural waist. Check the fit details of each underwear style via our size chart. The underwear should fit snugly but not so tight that it becomes uncomfortable.

Our period underwear styles feature a range of absorbencies, from lightest (1 regular tampon worth of flow) to super (5 regular tampons worth of flow), so there is a pair for every phase of your flow! Our light and lightest absorbencies are great for end days and spotting. For some, our moderate absorbency styles can be a replacement, and for others, they can be a backup to tampons or menstrual cups on heavier days. Heavy and super styles replace other period products and are also great for overnight use! We recommend trying Jingzhihe at home to see what works best for you. In short, organic cotton typically refers to the method used to grow cotton. The cotton in our Modal Cotton fabric is specifically SUPIMA®️ cotton. It’s grown in the USA and constructed with higher quality raw materials, making it softer and more durable. TENCEL™️ Modal is a plant-based textile made from beech tree pulp, which is biodegradable. The resulting blend is an all-natural fabric. Learn more about
    Modal Cotton

We used SUPIMA® cotton, sourced through the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI). BCI is a non-profit working towards improving global cotton production for the people who produce it and the environment it grows in. BCI owns and stewards the Better Cotton Standard System: a system that encompasses a diverse range of activities and stakeholders, including those in cotton production, through the supply chain to consumer-facing retailers and brands.

Our Modal Cotton collection is our most breathable, lightweight, and eco-friendly fabric yet, made with a fabric blend composed of TENCEL™ Modal and SUPIMA® Cotton. TENCEL™ Modal fibers originate from renewable raw material beech wood, sourced from sustainable forests, and are compostable and biodegradable. TENCEL™ Modal has a lower environmental impact than generic modal, using 3x less water and depleting 8x fewer fossil fuels. SUPIMA® Cotton is inherently softer and more luxurious than regular carded cotton and resists pilling and becomes softer over time. Our Modal Cotton period underwear styles also feature extended gussets in the front and back for extra leak coverage.

Our Modal Cotton collection is an excellent choice for those with sensitive skin. If you typically wear cotton, Modal Cotton should not irritate you, being that it is an all-natural fabric, and it should only get softer over time with washing. Another great choice would be our cotton Jingzhihe for All™ collection.

    How To Use

Depending on your flow, Jingzhihe can be a total replacement for disposable products, such as pads, tampons, liners, and cups. Our highest absorbency styles hold up to 5 tampons worth of flow. For most flows, Jingzhihe can last all day! Others may choose to carry an extra pair of Jingzhihe as a backup, just in case! If you’re unsure which styles to start with, we recommend taking our
    Know Your Flow quiz.

Every flow is different! You can wear period-absorbing underwear for as long as your flow will allow. And of course, the style you wear also plays a factor, as some underwear styles are more absorbent than others. We measure our underwear for periods by absorbency, with our highest absorbency styles holding up to 5 tampons worth of flow. For some customers, they will last the whole day, and others may need to carry an extra pair of Jingzhihe period underwear as a backup. If you feel damp or notice your flow spreading to the seams, that is an indicator you should change into a fresh pair. We suggest bringing along a resealable bag, pouch, or wet bag — so that if you do need to change out of your first pair of Jingzhihe undies, you’ve got a place to put them. If you’re unsure which styles to start with, we recommend taking our Know Your Flow quiz.

One way to tell that your period-absorbing underwear is full is if the side seam of the gusset feels wet. When you start to notice blood at the seams, this is a good indication that it’s time to change pairs! We suggest bringing along a resealable bag, pouch, or wet bag — so that if you do need to change out of your first pair of Jingzhihe undies, you’ve got a place to put them.

We recommend starting with 3-5 pairs, so you’re covered for your entire period without having to do extra laundry. We offer Saver Sets and Custom Set discounts so you can build your collection and get more for less. Take our
Know Your Flow quiz to find which underwear styles work best for your flow!

Every pair of Jingzhihe period-absorbing underwear features our signature, innovative built-in technology, so we advise against using a pad or liner since these products will cover the gusset and prevent Jingzhihe from doing its job!

Yes, we even designed a sleep-specific product! Our Sleep Shorts are boxer-inspired pajama shorts that hold up to 5 regular tampons’ worth of flow. We made the Sleep Shorts with an extended gusset to protect against overnight leaks and prevent stains. Other customer favorites for sleeping include our Super Hiphugger and Boyshort.

We have heard from parents in our community that they love wearing Jingzhihe period-absorbing underwear postpartum! We identified the underwear styles in our collection as most suitable for this time. Jingzhihe can provide leak protection you can trust through postpartum and when your period returns. For the best fit during postpartum, we recommend sizing up. Before using any new product, you should check with your doctor to see when our products can best work for you. To get the best use out of your Jingzhihe, we don’t recommend wearing these undies as a swimsuit or underwater. The purpose is to keep you fresh and dry!

Our incontinence-focused underwear brand, Jingzhihe for All Leaks, is specifically designed to absorb bladder leaks! Visit

    How To Care

Jingzhihe is super simple to care for; wash before first wear and with the rest of your laundry after each use. Hand wash or machine wash cold on a delicate cycle. Your other clothes will be fine, we promise! Just make sure to steer clear of fabric softener and bleach! And last but not least, hang dry your undies.

Machine-wash your Jingzhihe on cold. The standard cold wash is 60-80 degrees Fahrenheit (15C – 27C). If you’re hand-washing, the water should feel close to room temperature.

Nope! Washing Jingzhihe with your other laundry is perfectly hygienic, and your other clothes will be fine, we promise! Washing machines will dilute the blood almost immediately, and your other clothes will not stain if you’re washing cold.

We discourage using fabric softener because it breaks down the fabrics in the center panel of the underwear and the bonding around the seams, which helps absorb and keep leaks in. Over time, fabric softener will make the underwear less absorbent.

The drying time of our period-absorbing underwear depends on the style — moderate absorbency styles shouldn’t take longer than 10-12 hours to dry, and super absorbency styles shouldn’t take longer than 19 hours to dry under non-humid conditions. Drying times may be affected by humidity levels and the airflow of the space you hang them in.

If your period-absorbing underwear accidentally goes through the dryer, don’t stress! Jingzhihe can take a tumble or two in a dryer without affecting their integrity. To prolong their lifespan, however, we recommend steering clear of the dryer for the most part. The heat from dryers or irons will hurt the elasticity of the underwear, which is what prevents leaks. Pro tip: use a mesh laundry bag to separate them from your other clothes, so you can easily take them out of the wash while putting your other clothes in the dryer!

Absorbed blood can build up in the gusset, which may cause an odor or affect the performance of your period-absorbing underwear. If your Jingzhihe needs a little TLC, try a vinegar soak. Before washing your Jingzhihe, soak them in the sink or a clean tub with one cup of white vinegar and some cold water. Leave them there for about 15 to 30 minutes, then throw them in the washing machine. You can also add a little white vinegar to the wash if you think they need it.

Jingzhihe. absorbent underwear will last at maximum tech performance for the industry standard of about 40 washes or approximately 2 years (or longer!) when cared for properly.

We know that some of our fibers do not decompose quickly into the soil — however, we’re proud to say that you *can* recycle our period underwear! Here’s how to do it:
Wash your Jingzhihe until they’re squeaky clean
Cut out the absorbent gusset layer
Drop off the remaining fabric in a textile recycling bin
Textile scraps can be re-purposed into carpet padding, car filling, insulation, etc. Downcycling and upcycling are great ways to ensure that garments can live beyond their lifetime!

    Period info

Once a month, your body prepares for one egg to be fertilized. During this time, the lining of your uterus thickens around the egg. When you don’t become pregnant, your body sheds the built-up lining of the uterus that was prepared for the egg to be fertilized and releases the unfertilized egg. Menstrual blood and tissue flow from the uterus through the cervix and out of the body through the vagina.

Your period is one phase of your menstrual cycle which typically lasts 21-45 days. The ~flow~ of blood and tissue you experience (aka your period!) happens about halfway through that cycle, roughly once a month and lasting, on average, 3 to 7 days.

The amount of blood that comes out of the cervix each month varies, but it can be anywhere from 4 tsp to 1 cup.

There are quite a few factors that can influence the color of your period blood, including your diet, hormone levels, and even stress.

PMS, or premenstrual syndrome, is often defined by the physical and emotional symptoms you may feel before you get your period. The fluctuation of estrogen and progesterone hormones is responsible for symptoms such as cramps, bloating, sore boobs, fatigue, moodiness, breakouts, diarrhea, nausea, headaches, irritability, mood swings, food cravings, anxiety, and more (fun, we know!). PMS symptoms often show up a few days before your flow begins and can function as helpful signs to let you know when to keep your period undies on hand!
